Fisk University Kinesiology Lab

Project Summary

In pursuit of creating an innovative kinesiology lab and classroom space, Fisk University collaborated with The Bradley Projects (BPI) and Certified Construction Services (CCS) to bring to fruition a state-of-the-art laboratory facility for the university. BPI and CCS served as both the architect of record and the general contractor.   The existing basement facility, marked by its outdated condition, required substantial remedial work. The teams at BPI and CCS worked together to transform and revitalize the space. They installed a new HVAC system to accommodate students and polished the existing floor. The team expanded the space to include restrooms for both male and female students and faculty use. The lab space was carefully designed to accommodate the sizable kinesiology equipment. It was created as a spacious, open environment suitable for students, professors, and the placement of large equipment.    Today, students pursuing their Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree or taking courses in this field can receive a top-notch education within the new facility. This achievement results from the collaborative efforts of BPI, CCS, and Fisk University. Graduates with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Fisk University’s program will learn in the cutting-edge laboratory and develop the expertise needed to enter various health and fitness industry careers. They are also well-prepared to pursue advanced studies in fields like exercise physiology, cardiac rehabilitation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, or therapeutic recreation.
